4. Name one of your favorite movies—Lord of the Rings – can’t even remember how many times I’ve watched it – drives George nuts.

5. Name your favorite author, book or magazine—A fan of Agatha Christie, but nowadays don’t really have time to read :<

6. Name your best vacation location—A tennis resort with great food and tennis

7. Besides tennis, what else are you passionate about?—Between tennis, work, eat and sleep, don’t have much time left for anything :<

8. How long have you been playing this game of tennis?—I’ve been free-swinging the tennis racquet with George and family for awhile but didn’t really start to learn to play to win until my 2005 USTA league with the OP 3.5 ladies.

9. Name one of your favorite restaurants—I don’t really have one favorite restaurant. Most of my favorite and affordable restaurants are in the Sunset Area, SF. For example, there is Lotus at Noriega (I think it’s 22nd Ave) where they serve really good spicy beef noodles; a couple blocks away is Noriega Teriyaki where they have good sushi. Another one is San Tung at 10th Irving – they offer excellent spicy noodles and dishes.

10. What kind of food do you like best?—All kinds but spicy food ranks high up on the list.

1. What type of work do you do?….I am officially retired as of Dec 2004. Before my retirement, I worked for the City of Oakland for 36 years (actually 35 yrs and 10 mos, but they gave me credit for the full 36 yrs). I took advantage of the revised retirement formula and decided to go out earlier than I had planned.

2. What do you like best about your job?….Prior to retirement, I was a Construction Supervisor (nope, not Building Inspection!) in charge of monitoring grading activities at building sites, inspection of the construction of infra-structures within a subdivision or city right of way that are related to building sites. I investigated and resolved complaints related to drainage and obstruction issues. I had to deal with lots of complaints from unhappy customers (City of Oakland residents) regarding construction noises, working hours and traffic congestion at construction sites. I liked my job the best when I helped people resolved the issues they were confronted with–be it water flowing from a neighbor’s property, conflicts arise from a construction site, feuding between neighbors, etc. I took pride in representing the City and providing good customer services to the citizens at large.

3. What is your favorite hobby?….My favorite hobby, of course, is playing tennis. Another thing I like to do is practice Tai Chi. My other hobby is attending free screenings of upcoming movies. My wife and I do that two to three times a week.

4. Name one of your favorite movies….I would say that my (latest) favorite movie is “Crouching Tiger , Hidden Dragon”. I really enjoyed the fight scenes between the two female characters (terrific sound effects).

5. Name your favorite author, book or magazine….I am not an avid reader, therefore, I do not have a favorite author or any favorite book–between tennis, movies, Tai Chi, babysitting my two grandsons, and doing a little handy work around the house, I don’t have much time for reading.

6. Name your best vacation location….I would say the best vacation location for me is China. I had a month long trip with my daughter in China a few years ago. It was wonderful.

7. Besides tennis, what else are you passionate about?….See # 3 above.

8. How long have you been playing this game of tennis?….20+ years

9. Name one of your favorite restaurants….I don’t have any favorite restaurant in particular. Just wherever food is good and price is reasonable.

10. What kind of food do you like best?….I like most food with the exception of Indian food. Curry is not my favorite stuff. Being Chinese, my all-time favorite food is Chinese food, of course.
